Blissoma Holistic Skincare is a clean beauty brand that combines phytochemistry with biology, to organically address the root causes of skin problems, via nature’s most nutritious blossoms, berries, roots and barks in their whole, raw forms.
Over 15 years ago, the founder Julie Longyear was led down the herbal medicine rabbit-hole after migraines took over her life. This was before green beauty and wellness were trendy. She found that prescription drugs were causing her more harm than good so she turned to plant medicine to help rebalance her body. This began her fascination with the infinitely varied chemistry of botanicals and their benefits.
Julie started having acne problems in her late 20s and began to apply her newfound knowledge and passion to help clear up her skin. This is how Blissoma’s initial skincare recipes were born! Her goal was to create an authentic, nourishing experience of health, harmony, and the most radiant beauty products, ultimately showing the full potential of what plants can do.
The initial Blissoma Skincare collection took Julie 2 full years of experimentation to devise and finally came out in 2009. Since then they have enjoyed over 11 years of organic growth. The company is still an independently, woman-owned business and hasn’t had to compromise any ethics in order to expand.
Every single Blissoma product is made in-house, at the same vertically integrated, solar powered facility. Their products are made to restore skin to balance through the sacred relationship between plants and people. They combine cutting edge chemistry with traditional herbal knowledge for the best of both worlds. Each product contains 75% or more active ingredients, which drastically exceeds the cosmetic industry norm of 5%-20% actives. The phytonutrients they use rebuild the skin barrier, provide deep hydration, balance skin oils, reduce the appearance of redness and breakouts, and also help you create the most vibrant, resilient skin you’ve ever had.
Blissoma extracts their own herbs at customized potencies without heavy processing. These extractions yield more medicinal compounds from each plant and preserve them for the customer. Their fresh, on-demand process enables Blissoma to avoid additional preservatives.

Blissoma uses herbs from dozens of organic farms around the world including regenerative farms like La Colina Linda in IL and Oshala Farm in Oregon.
