Miranda’s Story:
Miranda was born and raised in the small country town of Gunnedah, NSW, Australia. Surrounded by family and farmland, her love of nature and organic living became an intrinsic part of her life from a young age.
Her introduction into the world of fashion came unexpectedly in 1997, when at age 13 a friend entered her into a modeling competition. Miranda subsequently won, which sparked significant media attention and she soon became the most sought-after new face in Australia.
Why did Miranda create Kora Organics?
When Miranda was 16, her mother was diagnosed with cancer, and she started to take a closer look at what she was putting in and on her body. Growing up on a farm in Australia, Miranda was shocked to find how many products made it into their home that were deemed natural or safe but actually included toxic, potentially carcinogenic ingredients. This turning point sparked Miranda’s lifelong passion for organic ingredients and holistic health which she continues to study to this day.
The Launch of Kora Organics:
Over the years, Miranda found that organic skincare formulas didn’t bring her the results she needed, and she wanted to know why. After many conversations with natural formulators and experts, Miranda decided to take on the challenge herself. In 2009, with the help of certified organic chemists and COMSOS/Ecocert, she launched a range of skincare, Kora Organics. The company started as a bootstrap, having been self-funded by Miranda, who holds a 95% stake in the organic skincare brand, one that sticks to both the strictest global standards of safety and the highest levels of clinical performance for healthy, glowing skin.
